This is a Citroen 2CV based, BRA LEIGHTON / CV3 project, with a new galvanised chassis.The fiberglass body panel are from the original BRA body kits. The panel set consists of a main body, a bonnet, a boat-tail boot and a bulkhead partition. These body panel were originally used on the BRA CX3, a Honda CX500 based 3 wheeler, and the CV3, a Citroen 2CV based 3 or 4 wheeler.The components pictured have only ever been used to mock-up a 3 wheeler, the car has never been built.
My intention was to use a single central shock on the modified rear single wheel and standard 2CV suspension on the front.
The modified rear axle/wheel means a 3 wheeler car can be built WITHOUT cutting or altering the chassis and as an unaltered chassis and all major components (except the rear axle) are from a single donor NO MSVA will be needed.
As a thought, I can also replace the single wheel rear axle with an standard 2CV rear axle enabling a BRA Leighton style 4 wheeler could be constructed and again as the chassis remains unaltered NO SVA is required.
In both cases the car will need MOT and a form V672/1 will need to be sent to register the changes to the car with DVLA.
The main concern is a bispoke steel frame will need to be constructed to accommodate the rear shock mounting and support the fiberglass body, steering, pedals ect. I can help with this and even build one but only after an extra pricing agreement is reached.
The engine, gearbox, front axle, rear single wheel conversion, extended gear stick, hand brake lever and anything else I can find related to the build will be included.
Due the options and components I can supply the winning bidder can choose weather to build this as a 3 wheeler or 4 wheeler according to their taste but, when finished it will make a real quaint and rare little runabout !
1988 Citroen 2CV, V5 log book for the donor plus VIN plate are present and registered in my name.
NOTE- – There is a LHD front axle fitted at present but this car be changed to a RHD axle if required.
