It is a predecessor to the Euro 5 and Euro 6 Ford engines which are still widely used today.Engine Failures And IssuesThis is the most popular engine sold by Engine Swap and therefore we know the general causes of engine failure! And how to prevent it! The majority of the 2.2 euro 4 Ford exchange engines that pass through Engine Swap either have crank issues which is always down to negligence (lack of servicing) or general wear on crankshaft bearings, OR piston failure which is mainly down to the fuel injectors, we would always seriously recommend testing and if necessary changing your fuel injectors at certain points throughout the vehicles life span.The Engine Swap ReviewProbably the most popular engine sold at www.engine-swap.com, as written above, may seem like a bad advertisement but that is only due to the fact these engines are so widely used and were continued to be produced for several years.These particular engines in our opinion are actually pretty good in comparison to many others, they have the added benefit of having good quality parts readily available at a very competitive prices making it easier to and cheaper to fix and replace faulty parts or of course perform a recondition.The only real issue is piston failure, down to the fuel injectors. Solve this problem and this engine is great!Terms And ConditionsProviding engines are readily available and in stock (please check prior to ordering) if payments are received before 2pm the engine will be shipped the same day. If payments are made after 2pm, engines will be shipped the next working day.This particular listing excludes Vat. An additional Vat payment is to me made prior to the engine being shipped. A full Vat invoice will be supplied. Our engines are sold on an exchange basis, unless agreed otherwise we do require a surcharge payment to be made prior to the engine being delivered. The surcharge is then refunded upon the return of the old engine. Exchange / Surcharge engine units need to be supplied in the exact same manner the reconditioned engine has been supplied, a COMPLETE bare block without any ancillaries such as seized injectors, if not, this could affect the amount refunded of the surcharge. Exchange / Surcharge engine units need to be received by Engine Swap in a recondition-able state meaning engines cannot have cracks or holes in the cylinder head or engine block, if this is the case the amount refunded from the surcharge could be affected. Unless stated otherwise all of our reconditioned engines come TIMED with a new timing chain / belt, it is important this is not tampered with, doing so could result in engine failure. Engine Swap do not accept any sequential loss such as van hire or loss of earnings.In the event of an engine failure we would require the third party to remove the engine from the vehicle ONLY! Do not strip the engine! Doing so will void any warranty. Once removed Engine Swap will organise collection, diagnose the issue(s), and aim to return the engine repaired or alternatively send a reconditioned engine. If the engine failure is the fault of Engine Swap Ltd we will pay a maximum of 400 labour for an engine to be removed and refi to the vehicle in question. In the event Engine Swap Ltd supplies a second hand fuel pump with an engine, because we do not have the facilities to test fuel components and this is deemed an ancillary component there is NO warranty included however if a new or reconditioned fuel pump is supplied we will warrant this part along with the engine for 6 months, unlimited mileage. All of our reconditioned engines come sealed in clear shrink wrap it is vital that the engine checked for damage before you sign to state you have received and are happy with the goods.We have a 14 day refund policy. Engines returned within 14 days of the shipping date can be refunded in full minus the collection and delivery costs. Engines MUST be returned sealed and untampered with to ensure a full refund.Unless supplied by NEW by Engine Swap Ltd, ancillaries are not covered under the engine warranty. We strongly advise that before fitting any reconditioned engine ALL the ancillary components must be checked and thoroughly cleaned. Check the turbo and get the fuel injectors tested by properly by a diesel specialist. If metal has previously passed through the engine Engine Swap strongly recommend replacing the oil cooler. ALWAYS use the manufacturer’s suggested oil grade and amount, replace the oil filter. Failure to do the above can cause engine failure which will not be covered under our engine warranty. As a precaution Engine Swap urge an oil and oil filter change within the first 500 miles of use. We would also propose keeping the RPM below 3000 to allow the engine parts to be embedded.
