This car is being sold as spares and repairs, its mot expires in november and itll need work to pass. in terms of its ability ro run its sound and reliable, but does have 142k on the clock i shall do my best to list all the good and bad points anything else just ask.
the good,
runs well and is economical, seats fold away to turn into a van space
large sun roof that is full length of the roof
air con work’s
good tyres all round
body work is pretty decent. no big dents or bad scratches but the usual wear and tear
comes with a key and electric fob which is after market.
has a decent amount of petrol left in it. about half a tank.
has a powered towbar tho never used or tested.
the bad,
needs a clean inside.
the exhaust has rusted and detached from the cat so it currently sounds like a mustang how ever its a clean break and if you can weld is an easy fix. however it is also covered in exhaust paste that youll have tp chip away first because as it goes….i cant weld…
tho the air con works thats about as usefull as it gets. there is not controll over fan speed or weather air is recirculated as the control unit is knackered. it doesn’t really do hot either so winter is a problem.
there is a very slow power steering fluid leak coming from 2 small pipes where the nuts meet a tank. might just need tightening or a bit of sealent but i just top up the fluid every 3 or 4 months.
there is a strange steering issue. as you turn the wheel is gently and intermitently tugs a bit no idea why but its not enough to be dangerous. just a bit annoying at first.
air bag light is on. kept going on and off at first but now its just on. no idea why.
windscreen has a crack running across the drivers side bottom corner and the screen needs replacing. there is a garage local in romford that quoted me 100 quid cash.
the passenger side sliding door sticks when you open it and you need to lean into it and pull the close handle at the same time for it to relase. possibly just needs some cables tightening or a grease up.
car likes to randomly lock its self if the engine is on and keys are in it so dont leave it running and shut the door. consiquently the passenger rear window lock is broken as i had to crack it to get my arm through and open the door. can be repaired with glue pretty easy tho.
the licence plates are held on with epoxy glue and the rear one has been done sloppy with excess glue everywhere around it
has original radio but the wireing needs to be reconnected as i cut them up to put an aftermarket radio in. re connecting them shouldn’t be a big job.
battery isnt very good and could do with replacing. car will probably need a jump start as its been sat for a few weeks so bring jump leeds, its good enough to start if your using it every day but dont leave anything electrical on if the engine isnt running.
all in all if you can fix it up your self and save the money youd grab a good reliable bargin. if not its be a good car to use for parts.
